Our wash, clay, and seal service is the best way to maintain your vehicle’s appearance. It’s much more than just a car wash. Think of it as an oil change but for your car’s exterior. We use a multi-step process to thoroughly clean the wheels, paint, and glass of your vehicle, then protect all these surfaces with a premium ceramic sealant.
What does the service include?
Our process involves multiple, specific steps that result in a super clean and protected car! Each service includes the following steps:
- Pre-treat all surfaces. Before touching any surface, we will pre-treat with an appropriate cleaner. This will start to break down dirt on the surface making the upcoming cleaning process safer.
- Thorough hand wash. We meticulously wash the body of the car using gentle yet effective techniques and chemicals.
- Bonded contaminants removed. All cars collect bonded contaminants that are not removed by a normal wash. These are typically too small to be seen but can be felt by hand. We remove these using synthetic clay. Also known as a “clay bar treatment.”
- Wheels and tires cleaned and protected. We hand clean every detail of your wheels and tires and protect them to keep them looking great.
- Durable ceramic wax applied. Once the vehicle is thoroughly clean, we will apply a durable ceramic sealant to the paint, glass, headlights, taillights, wheels, and plastic. This will protect all these surfaces from the environment, help them stay cleaner, and make future washes much easier.
How long does it take?
This service typically takes one to two hours to complete.
What do I need to do to prepare for the appointment?
- We ask that you have the vehicle parked in a place that allows about 3 feet of space around the whole vehicle.
- We will also need parking space for our work vehicle within about 20 feet or less of the vehicle to be detailed.
- We are happy to work on the exterior of a locked car, however, if you leave the car unlocked and/or give us the keys, we will wipe out your door jambs as part of the service.
How often should I have my exterior detailed?
We recommend this service about every other month. It is designed to remove the bonded contaminants that build up over time and to restore a layer of protection. Of course, you’ll want to wash your car much more frequently.
Does this service include waxing my car?
In short, yes, but we need to talk about terminology to give a complete answer. We don’t use a traditional wax that you might find at an auto parts store in a metal can. This is because technology has improved to the point that there is no longer any actual “wax” in the protection products we use. We use a ceramic sealant to protect your car and enhance its appearance. If you’re looking for a wax job, you’ll be thrilled with the results of this service, because it produces an even better result.
Do I need a ceramic coating if I have my car detailed regularly?
We love ceramic coatings, but we recognize that there’s more than one way to keep a car looking great. If you wash, decontaminate, and add protection to your car on a regular basis, you’ll still get great results! That’s what Wash, Clay, and Seal is designed to do.
